First French female drummer to be endorsed by Yamaha Drums and Paiste Cymbals.

Early years till 2000

I'm a title

•Gets intensive musical education from the age of 8.

 

•Starts to teach herself drumming with 19, becomes professional three years later at her first audition for European renowned band “Pills” (Mercury / Universal). Alix is also the voice of their hit record “Rock me”.

 

•Signs her first endorsement contract with Paiste Cymbals (1999).

 

•Meets African master Christian Bourdon (2001-2002) and studies with him Cameroonese rhythms for one year, ten hours a day. This will lead to a fundamental breakthrough in Alix's career. From that moment, she starts playing the music she bears.

2002 - 2004

•Works for Vanessa Paradis (Barclay / Universal), 2002.

 

•Starts 2003 touring and recording with, among others, Fania (Small/Sony), Jay Alanski (F.com/Discograph), Emilie Simon (Barclay/Universal), Terry Callier (Universal Jazz), Supermen Lovers (BMG/Sony).

 

•Spotted by musician agent Dominique Duforest, the number one agent in France for TV performances involving international stars, 2003.

 

•Records the sound track of Oscar winning French movie “La Marche de L’Empereur” (Barclay/Universal), 2004.

2004 - 2005

•Signs an endorsement contract with Yamaha Drums as their first female drummer in France, 2004.

 

•Signs with Bouygues Telecom i-mode as a TV, movie, Internet advertisement feature, becomes their download icon number one, 2004.

 

•In 2005, Alix “stands on the edge of a new frontier”. She starts composing and producing her own tracks on which she drums and sings simultaneously. Legendary French drummer Francis Lassus says about her: “out of fragility, she creates art”.

Detox is her debut album and will attract spontaneous featuring offers from major jazz French artists such as Marc Ducret, Franck Tortiller, Ken Norris, Sébastien Llado.

2006 - 2009

•Programmed as a Yamaha featured artist at “Salon de la Musique” in Paris, the French equivalent of Frankfurt’s “Musik Messe”, 2006.

 

•Gives as a first concert a unique performance at a very high fashion boutique in Paris, “L’Eclaireur”, 2007.

 

•Drummer for hip hop metal jazz band "la théorie du K.O." that features Marc Ducret & D'de Kabal.

 

•Performs Detox live at Drummers Festival “Les Percussives”, 2008.

 

•Support act for Lucky Peterson at “Jazz à Vauvert”, 2009.

 

•Support act for Rhonda Smith (Prince’s bass player) at “Canal 93” in Paris, 2009.

 

•Opening artist at Rémy Kolpa Kopoul’s special event “Les Lundis, c’est Rémy” at Jamel’s Comedy Club, 2009.

 

•Recording & touring with Francis Lassus his "in & dit Nougaro" project.

2010 - 2013

•Performs with Les Plasticines (EMI) 2009, Camille (EMI) 2010, Ludeal (Columbia/Sony) 2010, Ceux Qui Marchent Debout (Discograph) 2011, Julian Peretta (Polydor/Universal) 2012, Yasmine Hamdam (Kwaidan Records/Discograph) 2012, Elodie Frégé (Fontana/Universal) 2013, Alizée (Jive/Sony) 2013, Alicia Keys (Columbia) 2013, Olaf Hund (Hybrid Records) 2013, Leslie (Sony/BMG) 2013.

 

•Works with Nike as a “wild feature” since 2010.

 

•Works with famous jazz artist Jean-Paul Bourelly.

 

•Gets regulars coverage in French drum magazines such as “Batteurs magazine” and “Batterie magazine” since 2009 (see press section).

 

•Is currently producing her new album “The Dog Collar” with Julien Omé, Natalino Neto, David Neerman and Jean-Paul Bourelly
